Green Day Out 2026 - That's a wrap!

A morning of mud, magic and impact: 1,600 trees planted at Cromwell Farms

At Cromwell Farms in Goonengerry, New South Wales, more than 40 incredible volunteers came together for a single purpose: to restore the Big Scrub rainforest! By the end of the morning, 1,600 native trees were in the ground. And not just planted… planted with heart.

By 9:30 a.m., the site was alive with energy. Boots sank into the mud, laughter carried across the paddock and conversations flowed between strangers brought together by a shared love for nature. It was messy, joyful and deeply meaningful, exactly the kind of work that stays with you.

Children raced each other to plant the fastest trees. First-time planters learned side-by-side with experienced volunteers, swapping tips and stories as they worked. Everywhere you looked, there was a connection to each other and to the land.

One moment stood out.

A young boy carefully placed a sapling into the soil with his dad. He was completely focused, making sure it was just right. It was simple, quiet… and incredibly powerful. That small tree will grow for generations to come, providing habitat, shelter and food for wildlife and helping reconnect what remains of the once vast Big Scrub Rainforest. That’s what this day was about. Not just planting trees, but restoring something much bigger. Rebuilding habitat. Strengthening wildlife corridors. Giving the rainforest a future. And it only happened because the community showed up and decided to do something real.

Whether you joined us in the field, supported from afar, or simply continue to care about protecting our rainforests, you are part of this impact. Every action matters and together, it adds up to something real.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We’ll be sharing more updates soon and we’d love to see you at the next planting day!
