We were thrilled to see so many individuals and businesses sign up to support the inaugural Gondwana Rainforest Challenge.

Running throughout September, the challenge aimed to inspire people to get out in nature and see first-hand just how precious and worthy of protection our rainforests are.

We asked people to sign up to walk a rainforest trail in their area in September, hoping to connect like-minded people and provide them with a way to raise money for our rainforests too.

By all accounts, the first Gondwana Rainforest Challenge was a huge success.

“When we launched the Gondwana Rainforest Challenge, we wanted to create an initiative that included and directly engaged people with our beautiful ancient rainforests, bringing people together throughout the month of September to go for a walk in our Gondwana Rainforests to raise money for their protection and restoration," said Gondwana Rainforest Trust CEO Richard Christian.

"I'd like to congratulate and thank everyone who took part in our inaugural ‘Gondwana Rainforest Challenge’, especially our new and existing supporters who went walking in our Gondwana Rainforests and those who generously supported them with donations. We're very happy to have raised over $11,500 together for the inaugural challenge."

With over 30 national parks across two states within the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area to choose from, plus a number of other Gondwana Rainforest Protected Areas - there were a lot of locations to choose from.

A special congratulations goes to our top fundraiser, Bob Walker, founder of Bower Camp Co, who started his business from a love of the outdoors and a desire to enable more people to enjoy the benefits of quality time spent in nature.

Thank you to everyone who took part for joining us and for stepping out into nature to help protect and restore our rainforests.
